Those Tuesday-after-a-holiday days, they are very sneaky.  You think you can get away with not posting and then you realize you have committed to do your “on the web” roundup.  So instead of having a new photo, here’s proof that my husband thinks I’m totally awesome.  And yes, my link roundup for the week.

Ah, the RenFest.  Honestly, I was both disappointed and impressed with the festival.  Not quite as many over-the-top enthusiasts as might have thrilled me, but at the same time, quite an impressive showing by the festival producers.  I hadn’t been to a renfest since I was a little kid.  The buildings, characters and overall showmanship are excellent.  But like most of the world, the people-watching is the best part.

Fellow DC photog Aziz hosted a free street photography workshop in Washington, DC.  Super-cool fella and rad street photographer.  I was pretty psyched that he was willing to give up all his street secrets to us moonlighters.  I took David – self-proclaimed “architectural” photographer – and we hit the streets with Aziz, snapping away.  The man provided lots of advice but mostly it was good to walk in a small group and have a little backup in case anyone got mad about getting photographed.  I got lots of glares and evil eyes, but nothing worse than that.  And I even got a few smiles as well.  With some more practice, I think I could lose some of the fear.
