I’m not sure I love music. I’m definitely not into jazz, can’t name all the band members from any group at all, don’t know anything about genres and generally don’t care who’s playing it. What I love is dancing. I’m not sure if it makes me weird or normal, but when the music comes on after the cocktail hour, I hit my freakin’ stride at weddings. I never thought I would enjoy taking dancing photos so much, but with the music pumping and the energy of everyone gettin’ down, I really get happy.
I love protests. Truth is, regardless of what people are protesting about, I love photographing the excitement, the signs, and the passion people bring to their rallies. Working just a few steps from the National Mall, I have many opportunities to get down there and capture some of the spirit. It’s a double bonus when the rally is about something I believe in.
Stephanie and Colin are dandy. Some couples are sexy, some cutesy, some serious – but these folks, they’re dandy, I decided at their portrait session today at Green Spring Gardens in Alexandria, VA. For instance, check out their awesome getup. Our theme was “picnic in France,” which I truly believe fits these two perfectly. They totally pull off the “Anthropologie” look. Okay, we’ll modify: stylish and dandy. I’m terribly impatient, so I’m already posting a sneak peek. I’ll have a full post up soon!
