Quiet Waters Park engagement session | Annapolis

I had such a lovely afternoon exploring Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis with this sweet couple.  He proposed there.  She suspected.  They’re getting married on the water.  I’ll be there.  Love is cool.

Quiet Waters Park has all these cool sculptures around – some looking very traditional and others that are modernist and neato.  So we played with them.

Thank you to my primaries

It’s been a crazy, fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants, balls-to-the-wall, non-stop year. I’ve grown immensely as a photographer and as a business owner and things just keep getting better and better. I really can’t express how grateful I am to the photographic community at large and the wedding photography community specifically for being so open, helpful and generally fantastic all the time. I have so so much to be thankful for and I haven’t even stopped talking about my business yet.

But even more specifically, I want to take this opportunity to dedicate my Thanksgiving to the amazing primary photographers I have worked with this year who have shared their knowledge, time and lenses.  I had the great pleasure of seconding for some amazing people this year and wanted to take a minute to say thank you.

The unflappable Cassidy DuHon had me out to second shoot Katie and Josh’s rockin’ Hurricane Irene wedding at Nationals Stadium. And even though there were no portraits on home plate or the planned outdoor ceremony, it was still an awesome time. I mean, they got to have their first dance in front of this:

The whole week before the wedding, there were a lot of anxious brides and vendors watching the storm move. I grabbed a screen shot just in case we’d all forget that yes, this was seriously crashing peoples’ weddings. I was very happy for Katie & Josh that their wedding was inland. Some couples who planned events on the beach were not so fortunate.
