Kristi & Tom | DC courthouse wedding | Maggiano’s

Kristi and Tom beat my previous record for most people crammed into the ceremony room at the DC courthouse. What can you do when too many people love you? Fortunately, the courthouse marriage people didn’t feel the need to enforce their 15-person limit, and these two got their wed on.

After family pictures they had to run, so we did the ultimate-fast version of portraits. The courthouse ain’t so bad, amiright?

Then we headed over to Maggiano’s for foods and cakes and lots of toasts.

And pause. That is an eight-bit cake. And their invitation says “leveling up”! How frickin’ rad.

Maggiano’s has some pretty swank ballrooms.

Kristi and Tom kissed every single time their guests clinked the glasses.

Marriage Equality: eff yes!

I keep restarting this paragraph. There are many things I feel about the Supreme Court’s decision yesterday. We’ve come so far and still have so very far to go. But today we get to celebrate – thrill at the rainbows appearing everywhere, including the White House. It was about damn time and the win is hard-earned and well-deserved, for LGBTQ Americans and straight Americans: we watched our country turn an important leaf yesterday.

You’ve seen this, but I want it on my blog:

Jenny & Edmund | Meadowlark Botanical Gardens intimate wedding | Vienna, Virginia

Jenny and Edmund were married on a hot, bright summer day at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, Virginia. After some careful engineering of gazebo decorations, the site was ready for these two to tie that knot. We wrapped portraits juuuuust as the rain started to come down.

Our heroes and some close friends came early to help change the gazebo from any-old gazebo to Jenny-and-Edmund’s gazebo.

It was, honestly, mad warm, so we hit some flowering trees and some quick boardwalks and bridges before ducking back inside the – phew – air-conditioned main lodge. Somehow these two managed to pull off a subtle glow, when I’m sure I looked like a sweaty mess.

We have the same problem with the sun here in Florida. Sometimes it is so hot that daytime pictures are just impossible :) At least you did not have those harsh shadows. Nice job tho! Congratulations to Jenny and Edmund!!!
