Arlington County Fair

Met up with just two DC Social peeps for an outing to the Arlington County Fair.  It was a fun time and I like the images I took.  Fairs are smorgasbords of color, people and chaos – some of my favorite things to photograph.

We met at the piglet races, where there were many pig puns to be had.  First, the ring master called for volunteers.

Then the races were on!

The pigs were faster than I thought they would be.

Our pig (the blue pig) didn’t win a single race, though there was much debate over whether the “blue pig” was the same pig each time.  It would take a true pig master to tell them apart.  That, or at least a moment of study.  Go Wilbur!

The Midway is an awesome place in any fair.

George in Amsterdam Falafel

I believe I’ve mentioned Amsterdam Falafel before, which is impressive because I’ve only had this blog open a month or so.  But once again, George and I found ourselves at this amazing culinary establishment in Adams Morgan.  Naturally, we tore into our falafel before I could snap any photos, but there was plenty of time during the fry-eating to grab some of George.

My darling husband really is very patient with me and my photography habit.  Not sure what’s up with his thumb in these.

Evening Light and On the Web

In a little bit, I’m going to post some links.  But first, I want to share the beautiful evening light George and I ran into on the way to a free outdoor movie in Crystal City (it was Star Trek and it was just as good the second time).

My poor, darling husband.  I photograph him as though he were a woman and then to make matters worse, I put him next to a flower.  Hold on, I think I can fix this.

Ah-ha!  Much better, right?  He suffers because I only have a man to photograph but want to practice making girl-worthy images.  The man takes it in stride.  He submitted to these images very gracefully.
