I know I keep saying it, but I have really rad clients. Without prompting, Vaishali and John suggested we do their engagement session at the Hirschorn Museum, my very favorite on the National Mall. I’ve had the great fortune to work with two other couples this year who requested museums (and a fourth is coming up in December, yes!) So much win.
K and B weathered the wedding storm – both literal and symbolic. The rain held out perfectly, waiting til everyone was safely under a tent to drop out of the heavens. And they sailed through any wedding obstacles (and there always are some). Their friends and family made them cry, and laugh, and dance like crazy people. Yes, when the lights went out everyone got their mad, freaky boogie on, and it was awesome. And did I mention there was an entire roast pig? Because there was an entire roast pig. My peeps really throw incredibly great weddings.
Back in July, I had the opportunity to take part in Spencer Lum’s “I Will Make You Suffer” photography workshop. I really had no idea what it was going in. Spencer is one of my favorite writers in the wedding industry, so when he announced the workshop, I signed up without reading any of the fine print. Turns out I had agreed to a four-day personal project intensive. And intense is exactly what it was: four brutal days of constant shooting, with two critiques each day. That means TWICE a day, you had to bring in new material to be torn apart.
