Ana & Jon | Decatur House wedding | Washington, DC

Ana and Jon were married at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Georgetown, then held a super-classy reception at the remarkable Decatur House on Lafayette Square, complete with mariachis! They have such a wonderful laid-back vibe, except on the dance floor, where they really tear it up. I'm convinced they threw the whole party just so they could dance together all night - which, if you ask me, is a freakin' amazing reason to have a wedding. Ana and Jon: Decatur-House-wedding-photography-28 We started the day at the Residence Inn Arlington Courthouse. Ana's grandmother is a little firecracker. She was great. Decatur-House-wedding-photography-6 Loving Angel's street-scene approach. The light was amazing. Decatur-House-wedding-photography-29Decatur-House-wedding-photography-30Decatur-House-wedding-photography-32 And then it was time for the reception - with mariachis! Ana's family is from Mexico, so they brought a little home to their wedding with a big mariachi band, singing all the favorites (I could tell because the entire group knew all the words.) California Chrome didn't triple crown it out, much to these horse-racing fans' disappointment. Decatur-House-wedding-photography-43 But nevermind, there was cake! Decatur-House-wedding-photography-44 I've become somewhat obsessed lately with the hauling-the-cake-off-the-floor shot. I don't know why. It's interesting to me. Decatur-House-wedding-photography-45Decatur-House-wedding-photography-49Decatur-House-wedding-photography-50 These people were big dancers. It was pretty great. Decatur-House-wedding-photography-61Decatur-House-wedding-photography-62Decatur-House-wedding-photography-63Decatur-House-wedding-photography-64 Congratulations guys!
