Allison & Mark | Rockville Courthouse wedding

Allison and Mark rock so much. They're super-happy-cuddly-giggly, which is hands-down my favorite quality in a couple. And Allison wore this amazing 50s polka-dot dress. And they were going to someplace called Spice Xing for lunch and they kept calling it "ex-ing". And they're librarians and arranged for us to do indoor portraits at a nearby library and it was an awesome library. And Mark has a Star Wars checkbook. And and and. I saw him speak at a wedding photography conference a couple weeks ago and he had an image with the same concept. It was sort of a mistake when it happened, but I just went with it, and liked it better than what I had in mind anyway. artistic library wedding photography Congratulations Allison & Mark! Stuff I Love: the library

The public library.  It is so awesome it's almost unbelievable.  I won't spend much time selling you on the reasons to visit a library.  If you're anything like me, you're already well versed.  If you're not anything like me, you're probably not reading my blog!  I'll just tell you my all-time favorite library feature: holds. If you are a card-carrying member of the Arlington system, you can put something like 75 books on hold at once.  Then they magically come from libraries throughout the system right to the library most convenient to you.  I like to put bestselling books, DVDs, popular nonfiction, etc. on my list - books that aren't available now.  And then when they come available, it is like a present.  You never know when they're coming, but they are!  Here's George at Central - the biggest library in the Arlington system. handsome guy at the library The library is the best.  It really is. If you happen to have seen my pricing materials, you'll know that I did my engagement photos at our library (at the time).  The lovely Puck set up all manner of lights and things and snapped away.  The also lovely people at Aurora Hills opened up a half-hour early just so we could clown around on the shelves without other patrons being around.  It was a grand time.  These is Puck's photo: me and george at aurora hills library You know what else I loved?  Those glasses.  Too bad I stepped on them and destroyed them beyond repair. On the plus side, I'm about 15 pounds lighter than I was there.  Happy Monday, y'all.
