Amy and Alan are really hip people. She’s a graphic designer and he writes movie reviews for Brightest Young Things, a DC hipster blog. I teased them relentlessly about the hipster things. It didn’t seem to bother them too much.

Also, the National Mall is really cool. I’ve done a couple photo shoots around there recently and have another one coming up on Thursday. There are so many little nooks and crannies, weird sculptures, grassy knolls (yes, really – see below) and funky little spots. It’s a great place to play.

Super-weird awesome reflection thingie in the Hirschorn Sculpture Garden.

Every “just because” or engagement session I have, I always take a couple headshots for each person – a new “Facebook profile pic” I tell them. I think these are my favorites, ever. I hope they don’t fill this sculpture thing in (it’s really a fountain) before my session on Thursday – I’m definitely going back.

Finally, Amy and Alan even let me play around in my parking garage. I’ve noticed for years how awesome the light is. Here’s proof.

Rock on, kids.
