On my way to the gargoyle tour, I rode the bus up from Farragut West. I enjoy photographing people who are oblivious to the camera. All of these are in or around Dupont Circle, from the N4 bus.

I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful young woman a couple weeks ago at the amazing Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, MD. Desna is a teenager of considerable grace and poise and it is an understatement to say it was easy to work with her. This shoot incorporated the many talents of R. Kristi Modern Hospitality and her lovely makeup artist. It is a rare treat for me to work with an entire team of people. Thank you to everyone for getting up so very early – I think you’ll agree the light was worth it!
Okay, the truth is, I was really psyched about the gargoyle tour at the Washington National Cathedral because I thought you would get to climb all over stuff and go up in balconies and see all these things other people (that aren’t paying $10) don’t get to see. Well… no, it’s not really like that. The tour consists of a very knowledgeable volunteer docent showing a bunch of photos of the gargoyles and then a circumnavigation of the cathedral, straining your neck the whole time.
