Corinne & Andy | Hendry House wedding | Arlington
Corinne and Andy held a big kick-ass wedding celebration at the Hendry House in Arlington, Virginia a few weeks ago. These two kept it really, really real with a banging band, good food, great company and zero frills.
I met Corinne and her mother at the very first ceramics class I took. I thought it was so sweet they did a ceramics class together. Years later, she's living with her new husband in NYC. Life!
Let no one say this was a solemn occasion.

Cocktail hour on the patio at the Hendry House. They couldn't have asked for a nicer day.
Corinne got the dance floor action started and it didn't let up all night.
Corinne's uncle (I think I got that right) is in a band called The Narwhals and they destroyed it at the wedding - mostly playing rock and roll hits. They even took on "Piece of my Heart" by Janis Joplin. Good times!
The coordinator told me these cookies came from Sticky Fingers, which is ridiculous because they are a vegan bakery and the peanut butter cookies tasted like they had a stick of butter in them.

We started in a pretty little courtyard to the side of the lawyer's office building.
There were even canine guests.
Then we hopped in some cars and rolled on down to the Iwo Jima Memorial and Netherlands Carillon. It's a good spot for after Arlington intimate weddings because there's lots of pretty trees and such and also an unexpected but lovely view of not one but two memorials!

We came back around to say hi again to Amy's grandmother and there were about a thousand eighth graders in bright orange shirts, so naturally I had Amy and Matt walk through them.
My clients humor me sometimes. Ok, most of the time.
These "deep woods" are about five feet from the street.
Congratulations guys!
Oh, just me being weird. Ed's dad had to take a sneeze.
And then we made the fam go get cocktails while we took a stroll through the Carlyle gardens.
And wandered into greater Old Town for some yellow door and blossom action.

And finally, the newlyweds (ok, just Joyzeline) enjoyed a pre-cake cake at Lavender Moon.
