Sometimes, when you’ve been together forever, the big wedding with traditional events and plated dinner just seems off. These two chose to celebrate their union in a very different way – with the most intimate ceremony possible (that is still photographed), followed a month later by a huge party for all their friends and family. A massive shout-out to their brilliant planner Vicky with Event Accomplished who helped them turn the Newseum from a conference center with great views into a rockin’ nightclub with fantastic food. And, guys, for real, we got to shoot in the Newseum after hours:
Jen and Scott were married at the lovely, serene Montrose Park in Georgetown (which I would love to link for you but cannot, due to the government shutdown! No, really!), surrounded by their very nearest and dearest. I’m a big fan of the two-parter wedding, whereby you exchange vows in presence of just a few, then invite everybody on out later for lots of drinks and food and good cheer. I wasn’t around for everything, but they also had a bunch of further wedding events so that their friends and family could mingle and they could actually see their loved ones who came in from all over. I hear it was a good time. Jen and Scott:
Paige and J.J. were married last week at one of the most beautiful places in D.C. With a view of the Capitol during their ceremony and the Library of Congress as backdrop for a few portraits, they tied the knot intimate-style.

Check out Paige’s banging southern-style hat!
