Julie & Brandon | Columbia Country Club wedding | Chevy Chase, Maryland

Julie and Brandon beat out threats of rain to have an elegant but boisterous wedding at Columbia Country Club. These two held a "small" ceremony with their enormous families, then invited all the folks to come have dinner and dancing and plenty of laughs. Plus, there were more cousins than you can shake a stick at. Cecelia & Patrick | Holy Rosary Church | Hotel Monaco | Washington, DC

Cecelia and Patrick got hitched on a beautiful sunny day in the middle of our fair city, amongst scads of family, tons of friends and with plenty of style to spare. First they got full and really married at Holy Rosary Church, then partied it up at the Hotel Monaco, which supplied lovely red lamps for me to use as background. To top it all off, they hired a grilled cheese food truck to refuel their guests, who spent most of what they had on the dance floor. Cecelia and Patrick: hotel-monaco-dc-wedding-photographers-34 Special shouts to Kara from HJ Planners. We hadn't worked together before, but she was so awesome and such a pleasure to work with! We started at the Monaco, which is always super-fun to shoot in with all the textures and patterns and such. And, you know, busts of Jefferson (?) to help with the dress shot. hotel-monaco-dc-wedding-photographers-1© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com Thanks also to Tim who came along to help out. © 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com Also, can I just say... Cecelia's hair looked this good all day. That shiz is unheard of. Amie Decker Beauty has the hair thing down. (PS: I'm not just pimping all these vendors for SEO or good will or whatever - I'm moving to Sweden in a few weeks! -  They really were this good!) hotel-monaco-dc-wedding-photographers-9 Yeah I have like seven thousand photos of this flower girl. © 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com Gotta love the dads. © 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com A little bit of Senate Park action to round off the very-DC day. © 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.comhotel-monaco-dc-wedding-photographers-37© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com I'd almost forgotten what it's like to shoot during golden hour vs. working around midday sun. Jennifer & Nhan | Woodend Sanctuary wedding photography | Silver Spring, Maryland

Jennifer and Nhan have been together for more than twenty years, so at their beautiful Woodend Sanctuary wedding, there was no hint of anxiety or uncertainty about the future - these two have been in it to win it for a long time. I mostly couldn't even tell whose family was whose - at this point, they're all just family. These two gathered together a whole bunch of my favorite vendors in the area - Lula Mae events, Woodend, and Main Event Caterers for a fun, emotional, and lively day: Woodend-wedding-photographers-awesome-14 Jennifer skipped all the hooplah of a bunch of bridesmaids or other ladies up in her getting-ready space. Instead she put on her dress alone (plus me). It was really elegant and peaceful. Woodend-wedding-photographers-awesome-1Woodend-wedding-photographers-awesome-5 Then we brought in her man. Like so many. Woodend-wedding-photographers-awesome-24© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com The flower girls (and ring bearer!) didn't know what to do at the end of the aisle so they just milled about for a minute.
