I quit my job last week.  It wasn’t an I’ve-had-it-up-to-here spur-of-the-moment regret-it-immediately decision.  I’d been planning to make the move for a while, ever since my goal for the year got blown away and then doubled… and then my bookings moved from “manageable with a bit less sleep” to “no life whatsoever besides shooting, editing, client management and… the day job.”  Something clearly had to give.  And it did.

When the coordinator (more on her later) told me Amelia and Javier’s ceremony was only nine minutes, that didn’t seem right.  I get in-the-zone during the ceremony so it’s hard for me to judge how much time has passed, but I found it hard to believe that in nine minutes, they could pack in deep flushes, tears, words of wisdom from the officiant, handwritten vows and a whole lot of laughter.  Amelia and Javier had the most joyous recessional I’ve seen and I’m so glad I was there to snag it.

Sara and Cory specifically requested L’Enfant Plaza for its “brutalist architecture”, which, any photographer will tell you, is a pretty awesome setting and not your standard engagement session fare.  Plus, I happen to work in L’Enfant Plaza (for just a few short weeks more!) so I know all the cool spots.  Like right here next to the parking garage.
