Eva & Allen | Washington Masonic Memorial wedding | Alexandria, Virginia

Eva and Allen were married at the absolutely adorable St. Paul's Episcopal Church and threw a bangin' reception at the fantabulous George Washington Masonic Memorial in Old Town, Alexandria. These two suffered more than their fair share of wedding-related stress, but they shrugged every last bit of it off to dance the night away, masonic-style. But in the end, everything was downright stunning - from Eva's insane bouquet to the blinged-out main hall, and even the rain was the perfect drizzle to let us do our sparkly droplet photo without getting the happy couple soaking wet, while leaving room for cobblestone photos on Price Street. We started the day at the Westin Alexandria. But look at the little bits that fall down! I'm overdoing it. Sue me. © 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.comGeorge-Washington-masonic-memorial-wedding-photography-10George-Washington-masonic-memorial-wedding-photography-12 We were all very pleasantly surprised when previously no-photos-ever church lady had normal church lady restrictions and I could hang in the back and snap away. © 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com Marriage squared away with the higher power, we rolled by Prince Street for a handful of cobblestone photos, dodging raindrops, before finishing up at the upper hall in the Memorial. Ellie & Brian | Josephine Butler Parks Center wedding | Washington, DC

A little rain couldn't dampen Ellie and Brian's rocking fiesta at the Josephine Butler Parks Center (yep, twice in one week for me!). These two had such a relaxed approach to getting married, and that calm carried all the way through the day. Plus, they had a gazillion-person strong wedding party, complete with scads of adorable kids making all kinds of faces. Ellie and Brian: © 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com We started off at their home, because that's what the very chillest of chill couples do. © 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com Then hopped in a big old Uber for the JBPC for putting on of big white dresses and champagne. © 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com First onlookers. © 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com One half of the wedding party, very expertly faking the fake laugh. © 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com It was raining a bit, but fortunately the JBPC has these lovely porticos in the front so we could shoot outside but not get anyone messy before the ceremony. Alyssa & Matt | Josephine Butler Parks Center Wedding | Washington, DC

Alyssa and Matt were married last month at the Josephine Butler Parks Center, amid a flurry of proud dads, orange roses and under a hand-crocheted chuppah. These two are some of the sweetest clients I've ever had the pleasure of working with and that was reflected throughout the day - in the warm and loving faces of their friends and family as they did the damn thing, DC-style. © 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com We started the day at Hotel Palomar for laughs, hugs and clouds of hairspray. © 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com© 2015 Amber Wilkie Photography | www.amberwilkie.com Thanks to Tim for coming out to work this wedding with me.
