Sara & Colin – Arlington Wedding Photographer

I photographed Colin and Sara's wedding in October of last year.  They had a beautiful ceremony in New Orleans at the Columns Hotel, site of their first date!  It was really a special day.  But we had major timing issues with the bridal portraits and only had time for just a few quick snaps.  They raved about the images but I knew I could do better.  I told them I would redo the bridal portraits some day when we have enough time to really rock it out.  We finally did this past Saturday. They even let me pick their colors, without any objections!  Black, white and red?  I asked hesitantly.  They were totally onboard.  I found these amazing flowers at the Old Town farmer's market - they look like brains.  I know it's hard to tell from the photos, but these things are awesome.  I found a bright red Oscar de la Renta tie for Colin at the Goodwill.  I think it's going to make it into my own accessory box. I took them to Old Town Alexandria, where we shot at Christ Church and then we moved to the waterfront. Colin and Sara really rocked it out for this shoot.  And seriously, Sara, smokin' hot!  This headband thing she has isn't even specifically for weddings, but it looked so awesome.  She looks very 50s in the photo on the left. Old Town Alexandria wedding photography The lovely couple indulged me in some "urban" settings.  I wish the graffiti was a little more romantic, but I can think of a lot more offensive things than "disk."  I love both of their expressions here. Old Town Alexandria Wedding photography Look at how adorable they are!  This smirk is classic Colin.  "Taking wedding pictures, it's alright."  Sara, as always, is stunning. Old Town Alexandria wedding photography At this point Sara decided she wanted "sexier" pictures.  It got even steamier after this, but I don't think they'd appreciate that on the web! Old Town Alexandria wedding photography I want to finish up with this simple portrait of Sara that I love.  She looks natural and happy and proud and beautiful. Old Town Alexandria wedding photography Thank you Colin & Sara for being patient as I dragged you all over Old Town Alexandria and for being such kind and generous friends!

Erma & Jermaine – Manassas Wedding Photographer

Erma & Jermaine - 8.7.10 Faith Temple Ministries Manassas, Virginia Erma & Jermaine had a beautiful, emotional wedding, attended by members of their enormous families.  I can't remember exactly how many aunts & uncles and sisters and brothers Erma mentioned, but each set was in the double digits! Look at how pretty Erma is.  That smile never left her face the entire day. I brought my lovely husband along as a second shooter.  He got these goofy shots of the groom and his brother. And I have to say, there were some very attractive gentlemen at this wedding. And some of the cutest, least camera-shy kids I have ever seen. I mean, look at this one.  Is your heart broken?  My heart is broken. Erma's mother runs a catering business and not only baked her daughter's wedding cake but also provided all the food for the 150+ attendants!  Not a fan of hair spray, though... Erma looked beautiful in her big white dress. The ceremony was moving and the tears flowed freely.  I was very impressed by everyone's unguardedness.  It was beautiful to see them get so emotional in front of so many people. I love this image.  Look at the pure joy on Jermaine's face.  This is a man who is excited about getting married! Then it was time to head next door to a lovely little park for some couples' portraits.  Erma and Jermaine were really great sports and let George and me drag them all over the place.  They even sat down on this questionably clean bench. We wrapped the couples' shots quickly and got them back to their reception.  The speeches were funny, the food was very good. Thank you, Erma & Jermaine, for letting me be a tiny part of your special day.  It was truly an honor to be there while you pledged your lives to each other.
