Sarah & Tim | Georgetown University engagement | Washington, DC

Sarah & Tim are getting married back home, but live here in the District and wanted to capture some engagement photos for posterity at Tim's alma mater, Georgetown University. Georgetown is a really beautiful campus, and I learned that is partially because there is an endowment specifically for landscaping. So there's that. We did their engagement session on Tim's very birthday, the kind soul, so special thanks to him! It wasn't so hard though, these guys are all laughs. engagement session in washington dc engagement photos with georgetown painting mural Here's location #1 right next to dumpsters. I love how photography isolates - such that you only see what I want you to see, not the dumpsters in this alleyway (which was very nicely landscaped, obviously). engagement photos on georgetown campus washington dc engagement photography at georgetown university Location #2 by dumpsters! Sarah and Tim were such good sports for this one. "Walk that way and laugh out like you're having the best walk of your lives." This always works, seriously. Fake laughing is actually hilarious. candid engagement photography in washington dc engagement photography in georgetown engagement photographs in georgetown, washington dc Could Sarah's hair get any more perfect? Claudia & Eddie: Married! | Dahlgren Chapel, Georgetown

I had the immense pleasure of photographing Claudia and Eddie's wedding with Cassidy DuHon at the beautiful Dahlgren Chapel on the Georgetown University campus. Claudia was maybe a little anxious before she saw her groom, but that instantly melted away after their first look. wedding party with linen suits, green ties and purple dresses wedding ring set with peacock feathers wedding veil detail It was really fun photographing Claudia and her ladies get ready in her mother's house. Everybody's stuff was all over and it was kind of like a slumber party, but with big purple dresses. mother and godmother of the bride I was basically obsessed with Claudia's maid of honor's tattoos. bride getting ready bride getting ready in her home thermometer with wedding veil father of the bride gets into the car bride's relative looks on woman applying nail polish for wedding I almost didn't notice how cool the picture on the right is - I managed to get the groomsman's hands framed in his sunglasses - total accident (but I'm completely going to go for this in the future)! yellow boutennieres reflected in glasses We did bridal party portraits on the Georgetown waterfront. It was a really nice backdrop for their hip wedding attire scheme of linen suits, seafoam green ties and purple bridesmaid dresses. groomsmen put on boutennierres Eddie laughing with his soon-to-be father-in-law. groom with green ties and linen suits yellow boutennieres georgetown waterfront with kayaks And then we headed over to Dahlgren Chapel. I'd never been and I loved the way the light bounced all over the small courtyard in front of the church. Georgetown is a very attractive place. I don't know how they swung it, but they got her there on a Saturday night, obviously way past her bedtime. OMG I can't look at this photo, I involuntarily start saying things like "that baby is so cute!" cutest baby ever! I really liked the table decorations - lots of folded origami birds and little candy bottles. origami wedding detail wedding guests talking And of course, there was dancing. I heard from a very reputable source that it got pretty crazy there after I left. I guess that "Hora Loca" really was! mother son dance dancing at the wedding reception Congratulations Claudia and Eddie!
