Chris and Shubha are two of the nicest people I know. They are also zany – and I believe zany is a great word for this. The first time I met Shubha, she gave me a foot rub. Chris and I share some kind of karmic energy because he lived in the tiny bedroom I was renting after I moved out. That’s a great bedroom for finding a spouse, by the way. You are so miserable all cramped into that space that you end up finding a significant other and moving in right away. Worked for Chris and me! They made it official, Bengali style, with tons of laughter, color, food… and a dinosaur:
Anju and Brian couldn’t constrain their awesome to just one wedding ceremony, so they had two. In the morning, in the beautiful (but yes, very warm!) May sunshine, they held an Indian wedding with lots of vibrant reds and golds and tons of laughter. And that night, everyone regrouped for a Western ceremony and more dancing than you can shake a stick at. It was rad.
Suee & Tad were married at the really spectacularly beautiful Franciscan Monastery. And their tables were differentiated by fruits! But really, the very best part was their first dance, which they did to none other than ‘Power of Love’ by Huey Lewis and the News. Yes, my friends, best first dance song ever. Add a kickin’ band, incredibly sweet families and a classy location and you’ve got a pretty great wedding.
