Katherine & Jonathan | Baltimore Museum of Art wedding

I was very happy to be shooting with Sam Hurd again. Katherine and Jonathan tied the knot last year at the Baltimore Museum of Art, which is a happy three blocks down the street from my very best friend. I had an easy commute that night. They rented out Gertrude's, a lovely restaurant located inside the museum. We got to use the sculpture gardens for pictures. It was pretty much an incredibly awesome day. baltimore museum of art wedding photography And once again, can I just say that the light at the Hotel Monaco in Baltimore is gorgeous, beautiful, stunning, unending. I love love love shooting getting ready there. I need to rent it out for some boudoirs. getting ready photos at the hotel monaco bride gets ready on the wedding day in baltimore bridesmaids doing nails on the wedding day bride gets made up at the hotel monaco in baltimore bride and bridesmaids at the hotel monaco in baltimore bride puts on her dress at the baltimore hotel monaco bride on the phone at the hotel monaco We scooted to the Baltimore Museum of Art to do first look and portraits and things. first look at the baltimore museum of art bride and groom at the Baltimore museum of art bride in the dappled sunlight Here's Sam. sam hurd shooting a wedding cool wedding pictures with outdoor sculpture in baltimore And I am in no way trying to take credit for this, I just think it's so cool. There was this metal sculpture with a small opening - a slit, really - in it. Sam saw that and shot Katherine and Jonathan through the little hole - but it made such an awesome effect in the lens. I had to try it out myself and this is what happened. So neat, right!? funky wedding portraits bride and groom photos at the baltimore museum of art ketubah signing at the baltimore museum of art They held the ceremony outdoors in the ridiculous afternoon sunshine. wedding at gertrude's in baltimore jewish wedding at the baltimore museum of art jewish wedding ceremony at gertrude's in baltimore putting on the rings at the baltimore museum of art wedding creative wedding photography at baltimore museum of art I fell in love with this venue. There's a little fountain that separates the ceremony from the guests and you have to walk over those three stepping stones in the middle to get to the altar. They had a sound system so you could hear everything - but it made for an incredible visual and it also had this really nice stage effect, even though they weren't elevated. I dug it so much. baltimore museum of art outdoor wedding at gertrude's fleeting glance at baltimore museum of art jewish wedding L'chaim! first kiss and breaking of the glass at baltimore museum of art jewish wedding Is there anything cuter than the two moms hugging? moms hugging at the baltimore museum of art wedding happy hugs at gertrude's in baltimore cool way a girl was holding her hands at baltimore wedding cutting the cake at gertrude's wedding first dance at wedding in gertrude's hora at gertrude's wedding bride spazzing out during hora at baltimore museum of art dance party at wedding at gertrude's in baltimore super long hair at the wedding reception mom laughing and dancing at baltimore museum of art wedding super cool guy at baltimore museum of art wedding crazy dance party at gertrude's more dance party at baltimore museum of art wedding people kissing at the end of the night people talking at the end of the night baltimore museum of art sign Such a great wedding. Marla & Eric | Mountain Lakes House destination wedding | Princeton, NJ

Marla and Eric were married at the outrageously beautiful Mountain Lakes House in Princeton, NJ last weekend.  Their wedding was serene and charming and very, very sweet.  Brunch weddings have a calmness to them that is missing sometimes in more bustling, late-night weddings.  And the light was really beautiful.  See? princeton, nj destination wedding photographer Mountain Lakes House is set in this incredible natural area just a long driveway down from a residential area.  It looks like we're way back in the woods - but downtown Princeton is just five minutes away.  I really dug the place.  Marla had a few of her girls along to help her into the dress. mountain lakes house wedding photography mountain lakes house wedding in princeton, nj getting ready at mountain lakes house Then we had time for a few portraits before things got underway. wedding photography at mountain lakes house, princeton, nj mountain lakes house wedding photography Their rabbi was so great.  She even told everybody to put the cameras away during the ceremony and be present.  I love that, not just for the photography - but so that Marla and Eric's friends and family could really participate and enjoy the ceremony. ketubah signing at mountain lakes house bride and groom at mountain lakes house mountain lakes house ketubah signing ceremony Ketubah signed, it was time to rock. walking down the aisle at mountain lakes house wedding  wedding ceremony at mountain lakes house  jewish wedding ceremony at mountain lakes house If you tell me you've seen a prettier setting for a ceremony, you're probably lying. beautiful wedding overlooking a lake in princeton, nj Did I mention they were sweet?  There's very little that can make me go "awwww" at a wedding at this point, but this did. wedding ceremony in princeton, nj princeton, nj wedding photography Ceremony done, yechud had, it was time to party. first dance at mountain lakes house wedding And do the hora.  I love the hora. hora at mountain lakes house wedding  hora during mountain lakes house wedding reception parents dancing during the hora dancing the hora at mountain lakes house wedding parents laughing at mountain lakes house wedding I was chatting with the mother of these two when they started throwing the leaves on their heads.  "Why?"
