I’ve known Mike for the better part of a decade, ever since I was renting a tiny room with crappy A/C and very charming housemates in Del Ray. We’re all married now and having babies and acting like straight grown-ups! It’s been my pleasure to document the nuptials over the years.
Jen and Scott were married at the lovely, serene Montrose Park in Georgetown (which I would love to link for you but cannot, due to the government shutdown! No, really!), surrounded by their very nearest and dearest. I’m a big fan of the two-parter wedding, whereby you exchange vows in presence of just a few, then invite everybody on out later for lots of drinks and food and good cheer. I wasn’t around for everything, but they also had a bunch of further wedding events so that their friends and family could mingle and they could actually see their loved ones who came in from all over. Shakti and DevKirn celebrated many years of love and life together by marrying in Montrose Park last week. In one of the more intimate and beautiful ceremonies I’ve seen, they included a great deal of chanting and singing, and recounting some of their love story. These two used to play music in Montrose Park when they were younger, and so though they have moved away, it was a very fitting place to get married.
