Emily & David | Wolf Trap wedding | Vienna, Virginia

Emily and David were married in a very special place, a place where no one had ever been married before. David's family was involved with the founding of Wolf Trap - not "the Barns" wedding venue, but the actual amphitheater and park - and he and Emily decided to say their vows in the Children's Theater, outside, amongst the trees and paths that David grew up playing around. Wolftrap-wedding-photography-25 Emily started the day with her hair stylist of 10 years, Mickey Bolek from Michael Anthony Salon. And, oddly, her makeup artist was someone I see all the time when I get my hair did. DC gets smaller every day. Heather & Anthony | Barns at Wolf Trap wedding

Heather and Anthony are so great.  After their food-centric engagement session, I knew their wedding was going to rock hard.  And it so so so did.  Check out these adorable kids: bride and groom wedding photography Heather's parents' home is really beautifully decorated. Katie & Jessica: Married! | The Barns at Wolf Trap | Vienna

I'm so pleased to share with you Katie and Jessica's beautiful wedding from Wolf Trap.  The fabulous Kelly Prizel had me out to second shoot and - joy of joys - even let me tag along for the portraits, so I have couple pictures to show you!  This wedding was unpretentious and poignant, with plenty of tears and lots of laughter.  And a breakfast buffet.  It was all kinds of rock. brides in the woods Katie and Jessica opted for a "first look" before their ceremony.  Wolf Trap offered lovely little woods for them. first look in the woods This was too cute.  As Katie was walking up, Jessica turned around.  Kelly teased her not to look, so she turned back around like she hadn't seen. first look bridal portraits brides have their first look before ceremony kids before the wedding ceremony mother and father of the bride walk her down the aisle here comes the bride The ceremony was done in a really unique circular pattern.  Challenging to photograph, but it was obvious that family involvement was a big priority for the brides. circular ceremony at wolf trap father of the bride looks on during ceremony four pictures from the wedding ceremony dramatic lighting during wedding ceremony just married! bride during portraits brides holding hands during portraits bride smiling at her wife Wedding photographer Amber Wilkie brides cuddling during portraits brides cuddling after getting married red and white bouquet and gray stone wall first dance at wolf trap kids playing outside during wedding reception kids playing on couches during wedding reception little girl playing in a window kid kisses baby at wedding reception Katie and Jessica put out a big candy spread for their guests to pack up and take home.  Not gonna lie, I had a whole bunch of malt balls.  Towards the end of the reception, someone asked Jessica if she wanted to take the rest of the candy home.  "Of course!" she said.  My kinda girl. grandpa at the candy table bride laughing with bouquet Congratulations Katie and Jessica!  And thank you so much to you and Kelly Prizel for letting me help document your big day!
