Kate and Jimmy were married in the woods, at the very spot where Jimmy proposed. These brilliant folks actually take advantage of the lockhouses along the C&O Canal, which along with being nice vacation spots, are really lovely places to have a small wedding. They ate BBQ, got dressed up, marched down to a secluded spot by the water and went on and tied the knot. Kate and Jimmy:
Emily and David were married in a very special place, a place where no one had ever been married before. David’s family was involved with the founding of Wolf Trap – not “the Barns” wedding venue, but the actual amphitheater and park – and he and Emily decided to say their vows in the Children’s Theater, outside, amongst the trees and paths that David grew up playing around.
Mattie and Justin got married at ThorpeWood in Thurmont, Maryland – a drop-dead-gorgeous setting for one heck of a wedding. Mattie cried all day long, she and Justin made out like crazy and her mom even got in a Wendell Barry quote. Also: composting toilets (really!
