People are always saying that time speeds up as you get older. I’m not sure I believe it 100%, but I can believe that all the things I do monthly (write these posts, for instance) do seem to come far more often than would be predicted by the word “monthly”. We’re living a busy life. It’s exciting, but it moves quickly. April came and went, then May. Now it’s June. We’ll blink and another wedding season will have come and gone. In the meantime, we press on and take things as one-day-at-a-time as possible.
Melissa and John were married at the lovely Museum London, which is in a whole other country: Canada! This was the first time I’d shot a wedding outside of the states and it was a fine experience. I had Tim Hortons and paid with weird plasticy money and can confirm that Canadians are bizarrely, delightfully friendly and polite. But before I did any of that, I photographed Melissa and John’s wedding.
Stephanie and Matt are rebels. Rebels, I tell you! National Arboretum says “no photos here” and “no weddings here” and they say pshaw and get married anyway in a tucked-away little corner. Turns out the National Arboretum is freakin’ enormous. Though we did have some run-ins with park police… driving by and not paying us even the slightest bit of attention. But a little drama makes for a more interesting wedding day anyway! Plus, who couldn’t just be happy for these two?
