Danielle and Sam hosted a two-day wedding extravaganza – first an intimate wedding at the courthouse with just family, then a slightly larger lunch at Petits Plats, a lovely little French restaurant in Woodley Park. Then they brought in all the folks for a big shindig at American Visionary Art Museum, minus bouquet tosses and first dances and toasts and all of that noise but with lots of tasty food and giant paintings on the ceiling and massive amounts of relatives. Just the parts they wanted. Danielle and Sam:

I’m photographing an engagement session at Dinosaur Land today, something I wished for way on back in 2011. It reminded me of this blog post I wrote in 2013 about the places and conditions under which I wanted to shoot. It’s about time I checked in and updated the list. I haven’t made too much progress, and one venue has stopped operating entirely, but I’m happy to say I can check off a couple. And I can feel the Star Trek wedding coming…

I’m not totally sure what happened to April. It seems yesterday I was complaining about the cold hanging on and taking a bajillion classes in random things and generally feeling rushed. April brought with it much more ease and peace of mind, but I’m also not exactly sure what I’ve been doing for a month. The cherry blossoms came and went and the whole area erupted in beautiful blossoms – one of my favorite times of year in DC. And, we did another photowalk.
