Heather and Buddy were married at one of my favorite venues in the area, the Patapsco Female Institute. It’s a formerly abandoned, now restored, girls’ preparatory school that is now used for Shakespeare in the Park and a handful of weddings each year. Heather and Buddy filled the place with friendly faces, lots of laughter and some seriously good dancers. PFI is a wide-angle-shooter’s dream.

Meredith and Bill did something almost no one does, but that makes tons of sense and works beautifully – they had a two-parter wedding. The ceremony took place at Bill’s family home in Bethesda, with some very personal toasts and champagne and hors d’oeuvres following. Then the whole party picked up and moved to American Ice Co. off U Street, where the rest of their friends and family were waiting. The two-parter lets the personal be very, very personal but the party be nonetheless bitchin’. Meredith and Bill:

I met Shira and Graeme on their wedding day – Shira with a black salon robe draped over her and Graeme with a big anticipatory smile on his face before I brought in his bride. These hip cats live in London, of all the swanky, desirable places to reside, but brought it on home so they could get married in Shira’s temple, where her father is the rabbi. And let me warn you now, they rocked the reception at VisArts so hard, I am showing just way too many photos from their klezmer dancing. Shira and Graeme:
