Heck yeah, it’s getting all New York up in here. Joanna and Michael were my day #2 engagement session in New York awesomeness (day one, of course, was Anastasia & Nick). These two rocked out Prospect Park in Brooklyn and the beautiful Promenade where I got to dork out with Manhattan views. I’m sure all the New York photographers think it’s lame or played-out to shoot there – I don’t care! I was lovin’ the sweet views.
I’m constantly telling my couples to choose somewhere meaningful for their engagement session. Plenty of people take this to mean their neighborhood, which is awesome and I love shooting in and around my peoples’ homes. But Anastasia and Nick took this a big leap further. A couple days before their engagement session (in New York City!), they changed their minds from somewhere scenic to their very own kitchen.
Today was really a lovely day. I woke up fairly early because that is how I generally roll. Headed up to the continental breakfast upstairs but didn’t see a single coworker, despite there being maybe 40 in this hotel. No matter, I trotted off quickly to B&H to peruse the camera gear because I am a masochist and know I can’t afford any of it. But I thought maybe I could find a funky camera strap or something. Instead, I picked up a hot shoe sync for my studio lights. Very helpful staff there, as always.
