Irene and Idrissa have been married for over a decade, but, like the proverbial cobbler’s kids, Irene doesn’t wear shoes. Anyway, she’s a great photographer, so it was very humbling to be asked to do photos for her family. We even hit up a new museum for me – the Corcoran Gallery of Art. The gallery is on it’s way to becoming part of the Smithsonian so who knows what the place will be like in a few months. In the meantime, we soaked up some of the cool modern abstract stuff and rocked out the Duck Pond too.

One of the joys of being a part of such a big moment in my clients’ lives is watching them grow from there. I come in at a big transition, and sometimes I get called back in for other changes, like new additions. Shawn and Randall had Baby R just a couple weeks before I came to their house to do a few portraits and document a little sliver of their lives as new parents.

Shannon and Tim are married, but they’re so awesome, they want cool photos of themselves just because (and, you know, plus headshots). We hit up the National Mall before hardly any of these flowering trees started doing their thing. Couple of who-knows purple things and some juuuuust barely getting there Magnolias and mission accomplished. Though, honestly, some dead-looking dangly trees are more up my aesthetic alley.
