Shawn, Randall & Baby R | Maryland Documentary Family Photography

One of the joys of being a part of such a big moment in my clients' lives is watching them grow from there. I come in at a big transition, and sometimes I get called back in for other changes, like new additions. Shawn and Randall had Baby R just a couple weeks before I came to their house to do a few portraits and document a little sliver of their lives as new parents. documentary-family-photography-in-maryland-15 We shot in their home, as that is where new parents spend all of their time. I believe the "normal" is beautiful - the wonder, discovery, gratitude and also the exhaustion, the spit-ups, the poopy diapers. Life is short. Photos help. Doggies too. documentary-family-photography-in-maryland-1 (S&R - don't worry. I gave you a ton of color photos too. I just thought the black and white worked well for the setting.) documentary-family-photography-in-maryland-3documentary-family-photography-in-maryland-4documentary-family-photography-in-maryland-5documentary-family-photography-in-maryland-7documentary-family-photography-in-maryland-8documentary-family-photography-in-maryland-10documentary-family-photography-in-maryland-11documentary-family-photography-in-maryland-12documentary-family-photography-in-maryland-13documentary-family-photography-in-maryland-14documentary-family-photography-in-maryland-16documentary-family-photography-in-maryland-17documentary-family-photography-in-maryland-18documentary-family-photography-in-maryland-19 Baby R is so tiny! 1. I love that one of the baby crying in the tub. I agree – the B&W helps you focus on the feeling of the photos. Beautiful pictures!
