Margaret and John were married in the quiet, pretty courtyard at the Old Town Alexandria courthouse, right in the midst of downtown with its cobblestones and brick and very nice light. We traipsed around a couple of blocks and hit up the sweet cobblestones on Prince Street near the water. And hey – that chalk heart was still there!

I thrive on variety and exploration, so it’s always a great joy to me when clients take me somewhere new and, most importantly, varied for their engagement sessions. Kaitlin and Andrew walked me through their neighborhood and we explored some murals and parking garages and a park they walk through all the time. It’s great to be able to incorporate meaningful or familiar places into engagement sessions – so pictures are not just from a park, but from our park. Throw on some beautiful evening light and a happy couple and presto:

Emily and Matt together make up one of the sweetest couples I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They’re cheerful and funny and delightful and I was really happy to celebrate with them and document their wedding day. They got married at the gorgeous Bluemont Vineyard, in a very pleasant break from all this cold Spring we’ve been having. It rocked.
