Shakti and DevKirn celebrated many years of love and life together by marrying in Montrose Park last week. In one of the more intimate and beautiful ceremonies I’ve seen, they included a great deal of chanting and singing, and recounting some of their love story. These two used to play music in Montrose Park when they were younger, and so though they have moved away, it was a very fitting place to get married.

Maria and Doug were married at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Vienna. These two are silly and relaxed, so the stoic faces during the ceremony took me by surprise. These guys take their getting-married very seriously. But by the time we got to the reception at the Grand Atrium at Tysons Corner, complete with some of the most adorable escort cards I’ve ever seen, cousins who can really sing, the “money dance” and a FLASH MOB, the laughs were back in full force. Maria and Doug:

Che and James were married at the DC courthouse last week with a dozen of their most exuberant closest in attendance. Che made her beautiful hair piece and James teared up during the ceremony. Afterward, I took them to my favorite spot for post-courthouse-wedding portraits: the National Gallery of Art. It was a good day.
