Bobbie & Tim | Photobooth!

Bobbie and Tim were the first couple to opt for my newly-introduced photobooth and there's no denying it was an enormous hit at their wedding. They and their guests took 955 images, all told. Here are a few of my favorites: wedding photobooth images photobooth at a wedding images from a wedding photobooth photobooth image from a wedding wedding party photobooth And, what fun is providing a photobooth if you can't get on it with one of your favorite planners ever? And for all my wedding clients! If you want photobooth pictures of your very own, just drop me a line and we'll hook it up. I provide everything, including the backdrop (the one you see here) and props, but you're more than welcome to supply your own or do a DIY backdrop (and I have some ideas!) I'm still rocking the introductory pricing of $400, including upload to Facebook within a week of the wedding, for a limited time etc. etc.

Liz & Ashwin | National Museum for Women in the Arts wedding | Washington, DC

Liz and Ashwin, with the help of their brilliant planners A. Dominick Events, threw the prettiest, most atmospheric wedding I have had the opportunity to document. They and their families infused the day with warmth and laughter, while honoring both Hindu and Jewish traditions. The National Museum for Women in the Arts provided a truly spectacular setting for quite a day. wedding photojournalist amber wilkie They got started at their impressive suite at the Sofitel. hindu preparation at the sofitel in washington dc auntie with the sari for the bride mother in law and bangles at hindu wedding ceremony bride gets ready at the sofitel in washington dc I love how putting on a wedding sari and accessories is a big family affair. bride puts on bangles for hindu wedding bride's auntie helps her get ready bride gets ready with stepmother mother in law helps bride get ready for hindu wedding little girl watches bride put on her makeup auntie and bride holding hands They we scooted to the National Museum for Women in the Arts for family pictures and some quick bride and groom photos. wedding portraits at national museum for women in the arts With some awesome art. NMWA keeps their weird art in one tiny room, apparently, but fortunately for me, it was also the only spot with a window. Also fortunately for me, Liz and Ashwin were keen to have their photos taken in front of this sweet/weird thing. weird portraits at national museum for women in the arts Portrait work done, it was go-time! photojournalism at hindu wedding in washington dc bride and her father share a moment before the wedding ceremony groom waiting for his bride at hindu wedding Told you it was atmospheric. Susan & Senthil | Comus Inn wedding | Sugarloaf Mountain

Susan and Senthil have had a whirlwind couple of months, and as many weddings. They made it official, Western-style, at their beautiful Comus Inn at Sugarloaf Mountain wedding this month, complete with bridesmaids in orange, a show-stealing ring bearer and plenty of laughs. wedding photojournalist amber wilkie We started the day at the Courtyard Marriott Gaithersburg. artistic bridal preparation photos groom getting ready for the wedding Big thanks to Julia for coming out to help with this wedding. She stuck with the boys when they took their bow-tie frustration to the menswear store and did the practical thing: get professional help. groom buying a bow tie at the menswear store They we all rolled out to the serenely beautiful Comus Inn. It was early April, so the bugs were mostly still hibernating or whatever it is bugs do. It was peaceful and warm enough and generally a really great day to get married. bride and her mother hugging at comus inn (Here's a note for photography nerds: this image was inspired by William Klein, who makes brilliant layers with faces.
