Ann’s father carefully laid down pictures of relatives and items from their religion on a cloth-covered tabletop.  As he worked, her relatives poured into the room, filling the small hotel suite. He spoke in a language I didn’t understand, but it was clear from the vibe in the room that everyone was sending Ann off to her wedding with as much love and support as they had.  And then later, these people all got down on the dancefloor.

A little advanced planning might have made this significantly better… like, say, bringing a longer lens than a 50!  Or getting to the viewing spot just a few seconds earlier and getting the thing not backlit!!  But in either case, it was awesome to see.  We live in such a neat place.  I was lucky enough to see Discovery launch for the last time and I was glad to see her come on home to Virginia.

Heck yeah, it’s getting all New York up in here.  Joanna and Michael were my day #2 engagement session in New York awesomeness (day one, of course, was Anastasia & Nick).  These two rocked out Prospect Park in Brooklyn and the beautiful Promenade where I got  to dork out with Manhattan views.  I’m sure all the New York photographers think it’s lame or played-out to shoot there – I don’t care!  I was lovin’ the sweet views.
